Pens sweep the Hurricanes in game 4! Obviously...
Now it's on to the Stanley Cup Finals. Go Pens!
Wow. I just realized that I'm wearing an Evgeni Malkin T-shirt as I write this. I didn't even plan that.
Whoever the Penguins face for the Finals - whether Hawks or the Wings - they stand a good chance of winning. Especially if this momentum carries over.
Eric Staal scored early in the first period, at 1:36, for Carolina, and the Hurricanes led for about 7 minutes, when Ruslan Fedotenko scored for the Penguins to tie it up 1-1 at 8:21. From there it was all downhill for the Hurricanes as Maxime Talbot scored at 18:31, Bill Guerin at 12:10 of second, and Craig Adams at 18:50 of third, a goal given nicely by Sidney Crosby. Final score 4-1.
What a sweep! I would have loved to be there. It would have been a great game to watch! Fast-paced, well-played, good timing. Yay for the Penguins!
Redwings and Blackhawks face off tomorrow evening for game five.
Sorry that this post wasn't very in-depth. I didn't even list many assists. But it's getting late, so bear with me.
